Save big on new heating and cooling equipment with rebates and financing options.
Many state governments, energy providers and equipment manufacturers are offering rebates to make heating, cooling, and air quality equipment affordable. These incentives help homeowners make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes so they can control their indoor temperatures more sustainably.
When you combine rebates from Mass Save® with those from participating manufacturers, such as Carrier®, you can save up to one-fifth of the project cost, including installation.

Here are some current rebate incentives:
When you purchase a qualifying air conditioning or heating system that is Energy Star rated, residents may be eligible for a rebate:
Up to $1,500 rebate for gas heating
Up to $1,500 rebate for propane heating
Up to $400 rebate for oil heating
Up to $1,500 rebate for electric heat pump water heaters
Up to $100 rebate for smart and programmable thermostats
Rebates up to $10,000* per home on air source heat pumps
Rebates up to $15,000* per home on ground source heat pumps
Enhanced rebate amounts up to $25,000 and no cost options may be available to income qualified residents.
*Residential heat pump equipment must be installed by a contractor participating in the Heat Pump Installer Network. Rebates may vary based on planned use and income verification. Total Temperature Control is proud to be a Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Partner.
0% financing opportunities are also available on qualifying improvements. Heat pump rebates are available to residential customers in Massachusetts where Berkshire Gas, Cape Light Compact, Eversource, Liberty Utilities, National Grid or Unitil is the Program Sponsor. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 was passed by the U.S. Government to help reduce the effects of inflation. Included in this act are a number of tax credits towards the installtion of ENERGY STAR® certified home heating and cooling products including:
Tax Section 25C, Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit
Provides a tax credit to homeowners equal to 30% of installation costs up to $1,200 ($2,000 for Heat Pump). Products must be in the highest efficiency CEE tier:
Air Conditioners | Up to $600 tax credit
Heat Pumps | Up to $2,000 tax credit
Gas Furnaces and Boilers | Up to $600 tax credit
Advanced Main Air Circulating Fan | Must use no more than 2% of furnace's total energy, up to $50 tax credit
Tax Section 25D, Residential Energy Efficient Property
Provides a tax credit to homeowners equal to 30% of installation costs for ENERGY STAR® geothermal heat pumps until 2032. That percentage drops to 26% in 2033 and 22% in 2034.
High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program
Provides income-depending rebates to eligible homeowners including:
Up to $8,000 for all-electric Heat Pumps
Up to $4,000 for electrical load service center
Up to $2,500 for electric wiring
Up to $14,000 maximum for all

Carrier New England A/C Upgrade Program
For qualifying Carrier furnaces with the installation of a new or replacement Carrier A/C:
Efficient A/C or heat pump → up to $350
More efficient A/C or heat pump → up to $450
Most efficient A/C or heat pump → up to $600
Inverter heat pump system → $1,200
Greenspeed hybrid heat system → up to $1,400

Special Financing
Interest-free 12-Month payment plan
Total Temperature Control has teamed up with Carrier and Wells Fargo to offer a special financing program by offering an interest-free 12-month payment plan. You can avoid taking out a second mortgage or home equity line of credit to finance your new HVAC system. This program is for Comfort, Performance, and Infinity equipment. (Note: this is subject to Wells Fargo approval and after the first 12 months your balance will be subject to interest.)

Massachusetts "HEAT" Loans
The residential HEAT Loan Program provides 0% loans from participating lenders to assist with qualified energy-efficient improvements in residential homes.
Loans are available up to $50,000 with terms up to 7 years (depending on the loan type).
